Thanksgiving Break

(I do not know this man in any way. I found this picture on the internet)

Thanksgiving break is a wonderful time. It is a time filled with laziness, over-eating, Christmas decorations, and home-made pie.

Now, I could just rant about all the movies I've seen, all the Zelda and Pokemon I've played, and how much I truly adore pumpkin pie....

But, sadly I must somehow tie pie and laziness into the hero's journey, which could be a little tricky....
+

See my problem? I suppose that if there would be a point in the heroes journey where the hero really wants to blog about something more interesting but he can't because it would harm his grade, I would be there. But where on the heroes journey is that? The departure? The threshold? The of the beast? The road of trials?
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I GOT IT!!!
It's a
TEMPTATION!

Maybe not to the level of some others, but I am tempted to goof off right now. And like any good hero, I am resisting and continuing on with my quest for good grades. Every once in a while, it feels good to be a hero.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Rwanda?

The other day, we had to watch this video in class about these cyclists from Rwanda. It was a nice, inspiring story; apparently, before I was born, there was a genocide in Rwanda and these guys survived it. Then, to make a long story short, they formed a cycling club and it grew to the point where they represented their country in the olympics. They represented hoe for their country and, in my opinion, were hero's in real-life.
It was a good video, but the whole time I was thinking: "where on earth is Rwanda?"

So, I did a little research and I found out that Rwanda is right here:

So now if you're ever on Jeopardy, and you get the question: " This country is in this location:"
Now you'll know: It's Rwanda!

So now that I explained the location of Rwanda and possibly increased your chances of winning a popular game show,  I will be off! As always:

(and all the other crazy stuff I share on this blog!)

YES!!

You know that, presentation i was worried about? It ruled. To compare this to the heroes journey, one might say that this would be the climax, but I have a feeling the road of trials is just beginning.

Cold's are Terrible

I have a cold, in which you could probably presume due to the highly creative name of this blog.

Doing so has done many bad things for me:

Made it impossible to present to my class about this "belief statement" project, which has made me more concerned with memorization, deadlines, and textcuts than really thinking deep about what
I believe in.

Made me nervous to present two days late.

made me have lots of makeup homework.

Miss lots of lessons.

Made a big test come at me without forewarning, while everyone else got three days to study.

Made me have to blow my nose all the time.

and finally, made me go through three bags of cough drops.

As you can most likely tell, I have very little appreciation for this particular cold, with it making unsanitary, unorganized, and even a little unstable.

Though this cold has been terrible, it has received certain benefits such as:

Letting me make an awesome map on halo in preparation to my nearing fifteenth birthday.

Allowing me a reason to sleep in.

And, with cudos to the ZELDA WIKI, learned more about the Legend of Zelda than most people would ever care to know.

(Sorry loyal blog-visitors for the small interruption (if two weeks is small). I was having trouble with my email and blogger wasn't letting me post anything! Turns out, I was using the wrong email! Anyway, as always:)

"cool" quotes

The other day in class we read quotes for teens that have apparently been classified as "cool" without my knowledge. We then, of course had to write a blog about them. So here goes nothing (and nothing that anyone who has better things to do should read. What should they read? I don't know because homework is preventing me from blogging about whatever now! I sure hope it lightens up!)

And because of lack of things to say about these err... "cool" quotes, I will find one of these quotes that best describes my situation.

The greatest and most important problems in life are all in a certain sense insoluble. They

can never be solved, but only outgrown. – Carl Jung

Well THAT sure gave me a different look on the situation.

With that helpful and apparently "cool" advice, I will be off! I will try as hard as I ccan to post something more interesting next time.

Thank You!

MALWARE!!!! (DUN-DUN-DUN!)

I went on this site to post a school-related blog when google chrome suspects that there is malware on this site. It may appear for you, but I assure you: I am not an evil mastermind. No this blog doesn't contain Malware. Your web-browser might say it does, but I did a full scan on my computer after opening this page and there is no malware. Please don't go onto Shurtugal.com though.

Sidekicks

Despite the above picture, todays blog will focus on the people who help hero's out on their adventures, but hardly get any credit: the Sidekicks. Sidekicks help hero's learn to not totally be self-reliant and give them a friend to hang out with and grow with.

My school suggests that while I write this blog, I should think of MY sidekick.

I can't say I have a sidekick. If I had to choose, I would say my buddy Eric, but he's always doing stuff of his own too, so we would be more like an alliance between heroes.

Personally, I still don't even think I'm on a hero's journey. I don't really know what journey I am on, but all my friends are on their own journey's as well, and I can't really say they're there just to help me.

I do have to say though, it would be handy having a sidekick. Maybe they could help me with all of my homework!
