Well, I started my blog today, and you know what, I think it's pretty cool. You may be wondering why the blog is called "the blog of a genuine geek" or why the url is wariorulestheworld.blogspot.com, so why not do a little explaining? I don't have anything better to do, after all! So I should start off first and formost in saying: I am a HUGE Wario fan.
(dang, that's one BIG wario!)
Now, I'm not a fan of HUGE Warios, despite the previous picture. Not that I'm HUGE either, just my love of Wario is huge.
It would be pretty cool to be HUGE though. Or at least until I'd get tired of banging my head on rooftops and creating craters every time I tripped on something. It would be pretty hard to a big enough pair of pants too....
Well folks, it appears as if I have strayed off topic quite a bit. Anyway, I have an explainable mental attachment to Wario, thus the url of this blog.
As for the Unique name, I am, if you haven't already noticed, a genuine geek, so hey, why not let this blog speak the truth! I like video games, books, computers, and all that other good stuff, and I don't play sports or anything either. Though I can't say that I'm terribly unpopular. There are many people in the world who agree that being a geek is awesome, and I am pretty darn good at finding them. I have a large range of people in which I consider my friends, and they are all naturally pretty awesome.
Speaking of which, you may be wondering where I find all of these awesome people, so I'll tell you that I am a freshman at New Tech high in Napa, where many of awesome teenagers are found.
New Tech is actually the whole reason this blog is in existence. It is intended for me to blog about my school life in a way that would make it look like I'm taking the hero's journey (the outline for heroic tales in stories). but, I am on top of my grades social life, and personal challenges, and I'm not feeling a heroic epic coming around the corner (do you ever have that feeling?), so I will try and relate this outline to all of my favorite stuff. So if you see me wondering if the main character of a role playing game is a hero or wondering if a fantasy novel follows the heroes journey, don't be surprised! If I were to have a hero's journey it would have been my middle school carrier. I went from being dangerously depressed to being in my current state of success. I don't now if I can do something that difficult in high school or not!
Well, to get to know me, here are some fun facts about me! (or not so fun facts)
- I LOVE the ocean. Like, even MORE than Wario! I am thinking about having an ocean-based carrier (marine biologist), but I haven't QUITE made up my mind.
- I play almost every kind of video game.
- I am thinking about applying for a job as a lifegaurd (not a stereotypical geeky job, but I am a good swimmer and am good at sitting and looking at stuff, so why not?)
- I am a true base, so my voice is pretty deep. I could tell you a few stories about it, but I'll spare you the attention span for now. My voice is still squeaking and stuff, so I'm not quite kool-aid man, but it is still a mildly notable trait.
- I have memorized every type advantage and type traits of Pokemon (yah, I'm that big of a geek)
- I boogie board (over the summer, I boarded in Monterrey Bay without a wet suit. It was pretty chilly!)
- I have photographic memory (or something pretty close to it)
- I have a talent of tasting subtle flavors in food.
- I played piano for eight years
- My favorite book (or books) are the Inheritance cycle be Christopher Paoloni
- I also find physics and architecture interesting
Well, that was quite the post if I do say so myself. It was HUGE! Thank you for having the time and patience to last through that! Hopefully my other posts won't be as big!
